Course Description

Ridge preservation, sometimes called Alveolar socket grafting, is grafting of an immediate extraction socket to prevent collapse of the ridge, which would likely result in an esthetic or functional defect. Not every approach is a crestal approach, I hope to open your mind to more than one way to preserve a ridge.

Dr. Julia L. Jackson, a Philadelphia native, earned her Bachelor’s in Psychology from Wesleyan University in 2001 and her Doctor of Dental Medicine from Temple University in 2005. She completed her internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Brooklyn Hospital Center (2005-2007) and her residency at Howard University Hospital in 2011. Since then, she has practiced privately in Pennsylvania and Virginia, specializing in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with advanced technology. Dr. Jackson is an active member of dental organizations, lectures nationwide on implant dentistry and related procedures, and founded two study clubs in Virginia. She is also the CEO and founder of the International Implant Institute in Northern Virginia.
